This is not a forward. Need just few minutes. It's me who is writing to you to seek your help for my fellow citizens in the great city of Madras #NammaChennai - Christus Frank

You have the power to make a difference in the life of many! Someone helped me as well!

Hi friend, It's me Christus Frank. We met sometime in the journey of life. You would be aware of the man-made disaster in Chennai city. The nature punished us for the greed and cunningness of few wealthy real estate owners, bankers, bureaucrats and politicians. Truly speaking, the punishment was for the ignorance and stupidity of the common man who went blindly and built building's on the marshy lands and lakes. Again, this note is not a fault finding note. However, we seek your support to build and restore this city and the life of its citizen.

 Yes, we will get funds for relief and building and restoring the city from government and probably World Bank. However, today, I ask you for immediate help for the common man who is left without water, shelter, food, and infants with no milk and ladies with no basic day-today hygiene supplies. The stories we are hearing is breaking heart.

I know you are kind hearted and you want to help. But to trust and send your support you face trust deficit in the system - Government and NGO alike. And when I send a note probably you think it’s a forward. However it is not.

I was stuck in Coimbatore when the nature took its vengeance on this city. I was safe in a star hotel in Coimbatore. However, my family was stuck inside four walls. Supplies ran out. I could not help - ageing parents, wife and 2 kids. A friend of mine, Balaji staying 10kms away from my residence was online on Facebook. I just sent a note stating my family needs some food supplies - bread. He promised to help without knowing the gravity of the situation. It took him 30 shops to find a loaf of bread. Another family friend, Siva, who has twins, left his family and rushed to help my ageing parents to fix some issues in my residence. Alas, my family was well placed. This did not stop here.

Now, Balaji and Siva have realized what was happening in the city - a real humanitarian crisis. Rich have money, but no clean water to drink or food to eat. Rich have designer closets in their WC, but cannot attend to their nature's call. Misery unleashed. All are ready to throw money but no help. Realizing this Balaji  teamed up with few of us and started helping. Today, he has impacted 1000+ people supplying food, water and daily supplies. Manroe, my friend sends, supplies by bus service and Balaji and his neighbours and we as friends are supporting him.

I am directly involved. I am doing my best to support. My friends are supporting.

The need is so big. People lives are precious. We cannot wait anymore for government to support. Government needs to fix labels on relief material. Politicians need to blame someone, they are hunting for issues. #NationalMedia is after the next big story.

You and me cannot play with life. We can be in similar situation very soon. Cannot wait for support from agencies and governments.

Can you partner with me and help. I, your friend, Christus Frank, I ask for help for my fellow citizens. We need funds to source relief supplies from Coimbatore and where ever supplies are available.

Chennai rain update 1 AM - 4th Dec: Might be less wet, hope flood waters from rivers don't create havoc!

Chennai @ 1am - 4 Dec: Chennai take some rest! You will have some shower. It will be less intense. None of the models / satellite images suggest heavy down pour for 4 Dec. That’s some good news. But wet days are ahead! So please prepare yourself. May not be a deluge but still wet. The catch is not the down  pour. But South Chennai and suburbs, how will you further manage the flood. Hope there is no more heavy rain in the lakes in Tambaram and Chengalpattu. Hope Pondicherry and Cuddalore survives through. Also, they get some good aid. Chennai admire your spirit. You didn’t grumble. You helped yourself. Build your stock. Stay safe. Help and support. 4 Dec, might be more peaceful, provided the floods don’t cause havoc. Rail and Airports remains closed. Few skeletal rail services operating from Chennai Beach station to other cities in TN and other states.
