Chennai rain update @ 7 AM - 4 Dec - Patchy and Periods of rain through the day - Not a bad day!

Chennai @ 7am - 4 Dec: Good morning Chennai! As I post this few areas in Chennai might be experiencing some rain already. This will be patchy and not widespread. There might be some heavy rains but not bad ones.
Came across this -  "The low will cause the most numerous and heaviest rainfall to be focused across the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu to far southern Kerala into Saturday. While the highest rainfall totals during this time will likely be recorded south of Chennai, the city faces additional rainfall and flooding downpours. The low will move away after Saturday, but tropical moisture will keep streaming inland and lead to more drenching showers and thunderstorms". Continuing surges of moisture from the Bay of Bengal will fuel scattered to widespread rainfall into next week. However, later next week, the frequency of downpours will lessen around Chennai as a storm system shifts the focus of heavy rain and potential flooding to northern and central India, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jason Nicholls. "After that, the heavy rain threat should be over for this winter around Chennai," said Nicholls. Drier weather is expected to finally return to far southern India before the end of the month, and this will likely continue into January as southern India enters the dry season."

So there will be few more days/ weeks of wet weather in TN. Do prepare for Dec 6th and 7th (Sunday and Monday) - some heavy showers may come across Chennai - Will confirm this as we progress through the days.

Well for today, 4 Dec:

a)Very Heavy rainfall regions alert: Cuddalore, Puducherry, Nagapattinam and Delta districts

b)Heavy rainfall regions alert: Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur

My only fear remains, hope these showers in catchment area does not flood the Chennai city any more.

Stay safe! Hope you get some sun light! Will keep you updated later in the day.

Chennai is Rising though #NationalMedia forgot #ChennaiFloods

Chennai is Rising though #NationalMedia forgot #ChennaiFloods ***************************************************** #NationalMedia you don’t get sensational with relief work.  Do you? The nation really wants to know why do you exist. Just fyi - Chennai and TN - we are part of India. We feel proud to be part of India though you forgot the misery of thousands of flood victims across Tamil Nadu. You made stories out of the human misery as a breaking news. However, you fail to see the need for relief and rehab in ground zero (real - not the computer generated one ). Wish 'today' 'India' realizes how you galvanize us to things that are important for your well-wishers (advertisers) and movers and shakers (I saw a picture of one such man going by boat in his lungi with a smart phone and another had a miserable sendoff). Since you are failing as a "fourth estate", "fifth estate" we are making our voice heard in the wilderness. You have forgotten...

From #SingaraChennai to #SigaramThodumChennai - we will transform!

We salute you! We love you! Thanks for standing with us - Chanceye illa ! *********************************************************** I was in tears today, when I heard this radio jingle. (Listen - don't miss it ... Vanakkam Chennai Vaazhavekkum Chennai - An audio tribute to Chennai by Rj Shaan ) The jingle captures the true #SpiritOfChennai and not the misery.  Was happy that India knows the #SpiritOfChennai and what #NammaMadras,  #SingaraChennai stands for even in misery. We are Chennai; we are proud of what we are and we are proud of you who stood with us. I am happy to live in a time such as this, to see the benevolence of true India - An India which gives and cares. An India which shares what it has, going beyond region and religion. An India which is intolerant towards misery and human suffering. An India which has no caste, creed, race or discrimination in saving lives. An India that sacrifices self and lifts the others! I am proud of those sta...
