On rains. Today, Tue 8 Dec. No rains. Bright and sunny day! If it rains, it may be just a stray cloud. This is the same state of sky for even tomorrow Wednesday 9 Dec. On Thursday, 10 Dec., we may have showers in the evening around 5pm to 8pm in the North East Chennai. Again, the chances are minimal and we need to wait for inputs. Also, Friday, 11 Dec. it may rain in Chennai - probably drizzles in South West Chennai.  Again, even if it rains, in these days, it will not be moderate or heavy rains. Just drizzles or 2mm of rain from Wednesday to Friday. Nothing to worry. Relax and Business As Usual.
This is not guess work. But based on reviewing and summarizing multiple data available - various models and data tables. This may totally change as the atmosphere and climate is so dynamic. Will keep reviewing and updating these pages for you to be cautious.

The nation really wants to know why do you exist. Just fyi - Chennai and TN - we are part of India. We feel proud to be part of India though you forgot the misery of thousands of flood victims across Tamil Nadu. You made stories out of the human misery as a breaking news. However, you fail to see the need for relief and rehab in ground zero (real - not the computer generated one ). Wish 'today' 'India' realizes how you galvanize us to things that are important for your well-wishers (advertisers) and movers and shakers (I saw a picture of one such man going by boat in his lungi with a smart phone and another had a miserable sendoff).
