Rain waters have turned an ordinary citizen into ’live saving heroes’. These heroes have faced quiet an ordeal. I am proud of these true citizens of India. They don’t need a #NationalMedia coverage or debate. For sure, they don’t want the nation to answer the big questions. They weren’t waiting for 2000 Crores. They didn’t wait for an aerial view. A team visit and assessment by bureaucrats wasn’t required for them to respond. They didn’t look at their tax contributions. In fact, they don’t care whether their employers will do their contribution or CSR. They heard the cry and they were there to support and save lives! Period. The nation really wants to know why do you exist. Just fyi - Chennai and TN - we are part of India. We feel proud to be part of India though you forgot the misery of thousands of flood victims across Tamil Nadu. You made stories out of the human misery as a breaking news. However, you fail to see the need for relief and rehab in ground zero (real - not the computer generated one ). Wish 'today' 'India' realizes how you galvanize us to things that are important for your well-wishers (advertisers) and movers and shakers (I saw a picture of one such man going by boat in his lungi with a smart phone and another had a miserable sendoff).
