Unseen heroes #HelpChennai - What about you !

More rains has washed this city over the last few days. However, that has produced more #Volunteers. Rain waters have turned an ordinary citizen into ’live saving heroes’. These heroes have faced quiet an ordeal. I am proud of these true citizens of India. They don’t need a #NationalMedia coverage or debate. For sure, they don’t want the nation to answer the big questions. They weren’t waiting for 2000 Crores. They didn’t wait for an aerial view. A team visit and assessment by bureaucrats wasn’t required for them to respond. They didn’t look at their tax contributions. In fact, they don’t care whether their employers will do their contribution or CSR.
They heard the cry and they were there to support and save lives! Period.
A hero, helped his friends family with basic supplies. Then starts on with caring for his neighborhood. He has inspired to touch more than 2000 lives. During this relief effort, he took only 3 hours - a fact - to attend to a bereavement and final rites of his dear one - his grandmother. Final rites done, he was in action. He did not have time to complete his purification cerememony. But he had time to save lives. He provided foods for others, but he skipped his meals. He has ’splurged’ his monthly salary to help. When asked, what about your family needs, he said, ’they have’ but here I see a need. He missed seeing his new born kid for days. He never forgot to see the need and answer each and every cry. He continues to #HelpChennai.
Another hero, he cannot afford to spend money. But he has time and strength. He travels length and breadth and sources the essentials and he gives to the needy. After being in the field, his only agony is, “I am not able to do more”. He continues to #HelpChennai.
An unseen hero. He heard about the deluge. He has not seen it. He loves Chennai - #NammaMadras and his heart goes out. He lives in another city. He sources what is essential - he negotiates - from different dealers, locations and cities and waits in crowded bus stands and ships the essentials to his friends in the field who are saving lives. No one has seen him. However, he is saving lives.
