Religion and religious have always sought a way to fix their mind on their God(s). Some of the orthodox churches are no exception to it. They have always included an image, statue, idol, and iconography part of their rituals and as an identification of religiosity. Propelled by Renaissance, with the power and wealth of Roman church, the artists went about expressing their mental image of Jesus (Yeshua*) in an elegant and princely manner. Over a period of time Yeshua has become more westernized in our mind than what He was. We have idolized Yeshua with looks of Christian Bale, Jim Caviezel and the likes.
However, now, the forensic experts have come up with an image of Yeshua — The Jesus, which can really puzzle your mind and your spirituality. There is an element of imagination that goes into our interaction with God. This being the fact, will you believe Yeshua in the form that your mind might see in future.
I believe this is the very reason Yeshua always said and focused on the Word and even John the apostle started his narration of Yeshua’s history as “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
It would have been good for the Church, if it had kept its flock educated on the Word and not with imagery and icons. I fail to understand still, why Church needs to propagate and build its faithful’s faith based on images and icons.
The image of Yeshua — The Jesus, for you in the perspective of forensic artists.

What about the black Yeshua of the brethren in Africa? Rest of the continents have ignored their iconography as always.
Truly, we need a redeemer to redeem Yeshua from the western concept and looks!
PS: I am not against art in the world of religion. Don’t make God(s) out of them!
(*Yeshua — is the real name of Jesus. What we have today is anglicized and westernized name. Yeshua said ‘in my name they will cast out demons’. Will devil know the semantic and lingo of the modern church! In whose name is the church casting demons these days? )
